It's Double C for me this weekend... I don't mean Chanel, I mean Cough drops and Closets

I have a absolutely horrible cold that won't go away. I tried a cough drop yesterday, but spit it out in the toilet because it tasted like soap and soda mixed together. TIP: don't spit cough drops in the toilet like I did. It got stuck at the bottom and jammed the toilet and you don't wanna know the rest of the story.
So, now, I'm chewing on Hubba Bubba Sour Blue Raspberry bubble gum and thinking about what I'm going to do over the weekend. But, really, it seems like the weekend except for the fact that my mom and dad are working and out of the house. I have two of my cats to comfort me (yeah, I have Dylan, my other cat, and my goats, but they're outside and I'm inside.

What I want to do over the weekend: Skip church, go to Paris or Milan and come back with trillions of paper shopping bags that say MARC JACOBS, CHANEL, PRADA, LOUIS VUITTON, DIOR. Although, I'm pretty happy with my Urban Outfitters, Pac Sun, and Hollister bags

What I'm doing in reality over the weekend: Going to church, staying home and probably cleaning my closet out for back-to-school shopping while gulping down a glass of water to keep cool.

NEVER move into a 250 year old house. My room doesn't even have a closet! I have to walk all the way across the house (from my room, at least) to the attic closet which I share with my mom and dad. My sister was lucky enough to have a closet and an armoire in her room.

Last Sunday, we went to this place that had a bunch of outlets. The main reason we went was for the Ralph Lauren outlet. You'd expect there to be everything in the Spring/Summer collection, but all they really had were some basic polos and purses. We also went to a Michael Kors outlet which was much better. I actually found a $35 purse there, but it was so small it could only fit your cell phone, a tiny notepad, and a super thin lip-gloss tube. My mom found a suede purse she ah-dored, but it was around $350, and I swear, you could find an almost identical one at Target or Ruehl.

This is beyond random, but lately, I've been wanting to meet Elton John. I think it would be cool if someday, I did become famous and I was doing a remake of one of Elton John's songs and I got to meet him! Ha ha. Just a thought...

Guess what?! I've grown an inch since March 29th! Now, I'm 4'6''! Actually, I found that out June 14th, the day I went to Marine World in California, because I remember I was just tall enough to ride on Medusa and V2 which was 54 inches aka 4'6''.  I can always see the ladies in women's or teen stores staring at me, probably wondering why I'm even showing an interest in that size 0 shirt. I probably look 8 to them. I remember when I was in 3rd grade I went to a gymnastics camp and this 12 year-old guy thought I was in kindergarten.

Gotta go. My mom's picking me up to go get lunch. I'll probably order soup for my throat.

Just saying hi

Hi. I've been reading some of my older posts and they're not very good. So, when I do get more readers, and they read some of my older posts (including the intro)... they're probably going to think that I'm some immature little 8 year old who doesn't know how to write. Well, one: I am wayyy past 8... and two: you're right, I don't write very well.

That's my loss.

Just thought I'd say that... and I'm sorry if I bore you. ;-)

I'll be back soon.

Sorry for the Inconvenience

Some of you Cali Gals and Guys may be disappointed at the fact that I changed my somewhat famous title 'Joisey Gal with a Cali Twist'... but, this blog needs a change. It's boring, no one reads it except for people that know me and after I read my mom's last post, One year and then some I realized that it was true... I considered New Joisey my home.

So, instead of cyber-talking to my friends in my posts and talking about things that are nonsense to readers who don't know me (my goal for August is to get as many readers as possible to read my blog and some other things I will not name at the moment). I may have a few notes or two at the end of my posts, but, comments are appreciated. :-)

So, about the new me:
Last...
movie watched: Fool's Gold (excellent, by the way)

shopping trip: July 21st, 2008
mall shopped at: Santa Rosa Plaza
store shopped at: ICING by Claire's
thing said: "The real popsicles, like cherry, grape, and strawberry." (Mom asked what things she should buy from the grocery store)
website visited (before Blogger): aol.com
blog visited: actressca11.blogspot.com, before that, tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com
website signed up for: thecliquemovie.com
thing I hung up on my bedroom wall: a gigantic Jonas Brother poster from Celebrity Spectacular
magazine read: Seventeen
person emailed: Piinkzebra11 (aka my BFF Cass)
email received: an email from JonasBrothers.com asking me to vote for their music video for "Burning Up'' for the MTV Video Music Awards. I did.

I'm thinking about doing a fashion blog (the blog I just read-- Style Rookie, tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com, really inspired me)... even though it'll just be another failure just like those other blogs I tried to do. By the way, they are both deleted, so the link won't exist if you enter them in the address bar.

I should be posting wayy more often so check wayyy more often.
See you soon. Hope that someday I do become famous and this blog will be an almost-ever-lasting blog.

Also, if you haven't already... make sure to read the post before this.... :-D

Home Sweet Home

I'm home. Yay.  I had a fun time... but, I'm soo grateful to be home... with all my family. I'm so dang tired because I got home at 2am, got to sleep at about 3 and woke up at 8am. I can barely talk. The only way I can talk is on AIM with Cass. Ha ha.
The plane was interesting. But, Mom and I sat next to a really nice lady who was visiting her grandchildren in South Joisey. I bought the People Child Stars Magazine (Cass, I couldn't find the Jonas Brothers issue :-(  ). and a book called Math Doesn't Suck: How to Survive Middle School Math without nLosing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail by Danica McKellar. You may know her from The Wonder Years.

to a beautiful mathematician...

Seriously! She also has another book called, Kiss My Math for pre-algebra.

Anyway, we got home safely, I'm not dead or hurt in anyway. I'm taking a nap by the pool today and I'm going to try as hard as possible to get a healthy tan like I had last summer and the years before. The tannest parts of my body right now are my knees. Weird...

By the way, I'm not a big Miley Cyrus fan, buuuut, her new album that came out yesterday, is soooo good. I can't wait to get it. My faves are "Full Circle", "Breakout", and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" (sound familiar, Carrie?)! I'm glad she broke away from Disney.

Gotta go, I have some major planning to do. I'll write ASAP.

Byyyye.

California! :-) :-) :-)

I'm going to Cali tomorrow and I can barely contain my joy! But, joy isn't the only thing.... I'm worried and anxious. Especially since I'm not ready and I'm waiting 'til the last minute!

How am I supposed to find Carrie in the airport? What am I going to wear? What if my alarm clock doesn't ring at 5am? What if I forget something... like underwear!? What if I have to sit next to an old fat guy, who smells like smoke and tuna? How am I going to listen to music (ex: The Jonas Brothers) if I lost my iPod!?

Yeah... I lost my iPod and I seriously don't know how I'm going to survive. And I finished The Summer Collection: Kristen the day after I bought it, so I don't know what to read because Claire isn't coming out 'til August. I didn't want anything at the library because nothing was going to keep me satisfied. I wanted to try Gossip Girl or The A-List, but the content was a little old for me (I'll explain later). And some of the books I have wanted to read for a couple of months, the library didn't have. I'll probably read The Clique Series over again.

My brother started crying this morning when he found out how long I was staying in California, so I promised him I would write him a letter. Now, I have to keep that promise and write him a letter. Ugh! Maybe he will be more satisfied with a phone call...

I've decided that I'll take hip-hop. Reasons why: 1. It's easy and it's the most different from lyrical. 2. Cass has been begging me to take it. 3. It works well with my 'schedule'.

I'm also thinking about doing lacrosse. It sounds fun, even though it means wearing thick jerseys and guy shorts.

Movie requests:
Pretty in Pink- Molly Ringwald plays a down-to-earth and smart high-schooler (Andie) who falls in love with a rich high-schooler named Brace, who is way out of her league. She discovers he feels the same way and the two fall in love after their first date. But, will Brace's rich and snobby friends stop him from dating her? Find out in this great '80s classic!
Waitress- Kerry Russell plays Jenna, a waitress at a pie diner. Jenna doesn't live a happy life: she lives with her abusive husband, and is scared to divorce him. Her life gets worse when she finds out she's pregnant when all she wants to do with her life is make pies. Jenna falls in love with her new doctor, Dr. Pomatter. Will her baby help Jenna's life?

Anyway, I just wrote those quickly. The director/writer was murdered in 2006 and plays, Dawn, one of Jenna's friends. Her name is Adrienne Shelly and she was murdered before the movie came out. Her daughter also played Jenna's daughter as a toddler. I thought that was sooooo sad :-(.

Soooo... yup. I'll try to see if I can post a few things while I'm gone :-)

I have no 'creative' name for this post

Okay, so I was going to post something called, 'Bugs and Dirt and Rain, oh my!', but, that would leave a lot of my vacation and July stuff out. Here is the section of 'Bugs and Dirt'-- okay, you get the point.
We were heading towards Maine for a 5 day vacation. Since it was a 6 hour drive, my parents thought it would be fun to have a camping trip along the way. Suuuuuuuuuuurrrrre. I mean, yeah, a school trip with your grade would be fun, which would include cabins, clean bathrooms and showers, and the whole campsite would be reserved for you and your grade. But, ADM*, instead I had to go camping with my hillbilly sister (don't ask) and goes-to-the-bathroom-all-the-time-and-can't-stay-in-one-place brother. And my parents of course... but, there's nothing wrong with them. Except, my dad's really immature. Anyway, we camped in Massachusetts. It was fun for an hour, we went swimming in a lake, until... BOOM! Of course, thunder. Another one of those East Coast rainy days. So, everyone got out of the lake and we rode our bikes back to where our tent was. There was no rain... yet. We had finally got everything ready. The table was set with our food, a portable BBQ (for burgers), a table cloth, a lantern, a candle (it was supposed to keep the mosquitos away), and bug-spray bottles, the tent was up annd ready with 2 air mattresses, and every other camping thing that needed to be ready. And then it started raining. So, we all ran into the tent with chips, salsa, iced tea (for me), and wine (for Mom and Dad). The rest of the night was fine. The rain stopped... sort of... and we made smores (I have no idea how to spell it) and burgers and corn. At night, we watched U.S. Marshals on our portable DVD player (I know, we're such a camping family). The smell wasn't comforting though. It smelled like gallons of bug-spray, dirt, and smelly smore scraps (again, I don't know how to spell smore... if that's how you spell it... ha ha) had invaded the earth. The next morning, I got out of bed and didn't care to even put my clothes on (I had jammies on... don't worry). I made pancakes for everyone (we've been having those every Saturday morning, because I can make them by myself now... sorry if that sounds puh-thetic). But, it sort of seemed like the bug-spray was replaced with sugar water, because mosquitos had literally attacked us and the food. I was bit all over the place and lucky for me, I swell up. Anyway, that was our "fun" camping trip. I'll try to add pics and videos next week.
Maine was fun too. I mean, it wasn't paradise, but it was cool. The view was ah-mazing. We stayed with my mom's friends at her house which is massive for such a small family. The island they live on is called, Great Diamond Island. The island is so small, no one has cars! They all have golf carts and bikes. It's so cool. There are no schools on the island, so kids take the ferry out to Long Island (for Elementary) or Portland (for Middle and High School). I couldn't do that! I swear, I would be puking on the way there, and the way back. Ew. There was this little 2 year old there named Kineo and he was ah-dorable! It was impossible to stay away from him, even though he gave open mouth kisses and knocked you and whatever you are holding over when you try to leave him. But, I taught him how to dance at the 4th of July party which was also really fun. I danced all night (of course, after dinner) until the fireworks in Portland came. Dancing was fun, but it's sort of embarrassing if you have a Dad who thinks he can dance and a Mom who does her old dance routines from the 70s or something. Plus, now, people my age dance with friends and/or boyfriends or girlfriends (which is disgusting to me... especially since I'm in 6th grade). But, I don't mind dancing with guyfriends and friends who are girls (I don't like saying girlfriends because I sound... you know). Anyway, Happy Belated Independence Day!!
I'm doing dance this semester! Yay! Okay, so I'm sure about lyrical ballet... but, I don't know if I should do hip-hop, jazz, jazz funk, or tap for my second choice. I can only afford two types of dance lessons. So, please vote on the pole which other dance type I should do. Thanks!
Gotta go!! If you'd like to see me in Cali, please, please email me! (for the readers who I know and live in California.... no strangers (not that you're strange or anything... but, I'm a kid... and you could be a psycho... but, you're probably not... but, if you are, then back off please!), and New Jersey readers, I can see you anytime ;-)...unless you're a stranger... let's not get into that again! Byyyyyyye. Luv ya!!
*ADM stands for Ay Dios Mio, which is Spanish for Oh My Gosh (or God, but I'm Catholic). I got it from The Clique Summer Collection: Alicia, which I am done with and I'm ready to go get Kristen today (today's the release date! I finished Alicia just in time!). For those Clique readers, the movie trailer can be found on YouTube if you type in, 'The official Clique Movie trailer'. You should find it. The movie looks ah-mazing.
